Sights, scenes, and surprises at the Michigan Motorcycle Show

Throughout the weekend, riders from all over braved the cold winter weather to gather at the Suburban Collection Showplace to see all the latest models from all the major OEMs and participate in numerous activities hosted at the show.

Represented at the show were OEMs BMW, Can-Am, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Suzuki, Triumph, Ducati, Kawasaki, KTM, Star Motorcycles, and Yamaha. Strong local support from dealers also brought in other bikes like Victory and Hyosung. With many new models from every manufacturer, there was something for everyone at the show, and that only scratched the surface.

Several vintage clubs made it out to the Michigan Motorcycle Show including the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club, Metro Triumph Riders, and Norton Owners Club. This Honda CBX with some modern upgrades was a real hit and the amazing rides from yesteryear were in abundance.

Huge crowds gathered to watch the XDL Street Jam throughout the weekend. XDL riders Aaron Twite and Josh Borne put on great shows while battling extremely slippery surfaces. We were treated to wheelies, stoppies, and even a couple of scary moments.

One of the most popular seminars at The Podium was the advanced riding seminar put on by Jason DiSalvo of the Speed Academy. Jason covered the methodology of motorcycle control and how to make your bike do what you want it to do.

The MotoGP Experience sponsored by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway featured shining examples of actual MotoGP bikes and many dedicated race fans got to soak in the details of over a dozen of the fastest bikes in the world.

The J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Competition brought out some really amazing motorcycles, some of which were completely new and haven't seen before. There is a lot of great custom iron in Michigan and lots of strong competition. Stay tuned to check out the winners when they're announced later!

Overall, it was a great weekend in Novi with fun times, lots of bikes, and a great crowd. A great big "THANK YOU" to everyone who made the trek out to the show and made it one to remember!
