Advanstar Partners with Ebay Motors and Alexander Farrington on FDNY Tribute Bike Publish date: Jan 11, 2007 The Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows Presented by Toyota is pleased to announce a partnership in conjunction with Ebay Motors and Alexander Farrington to showcase a fully customized Kawasaki ZX-7R that will be auctioned off at the conclusion of the season to honor those fallen firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
“Their selfless ways will not go unnoticed,” said Farrington. “It’s truly been an honor to be able to do this and I’m very happy that Advanstar and Ebay have decided to help me with the final process of auctioning off the bike and delivering the proceeds to those in need.” With over 200 hours of work going into the ‘343’, this is no ordinary sportbike. The bike is fully customized, from the Muzzy’s Full Polished Exhaust, Dyno Flow Commander, K&N High Performance Air Filter and Oil Set, NOS Sneaky Pete Hidden Bottle System, computer remapping to maximize air flow and fuel mixture resulting in 141 rwhp before the 50 shot of NOS.
Themed for the Fire Department of New York the bike comes in a custom Candy Brandywine color with seven layers of Clear Coat and Airbrushed Diamond Plating on the lower fairing and Ram Air Vents. Names of fallen firefighters as well as the “343” are all done in Gold Leaf.
This motorcycle will be auctioned off on Ebay Motors to the highest bidder on or about March 4, 2007, with 100% of the proceeds going to the William Randolph Hearst Burn Center at the New York City Presbyterian Hospital. The money will help those who have been injured in fire related accidents and can’t afford the surgeries. The William Randolph Hearst Burn Center at the New York City Presbyterian Hospital treats, on average, more than 1,300 inpatients and 5,000 outpatients every year. Since their beginning, the Burn Center has had a special relationship with the New York City Fire Department. They are honored to be the burn center most relied upon by the city's firefighters. Also they work closely with the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation to educate the public on fire hazards and prevention.
