Harley-Davidson has extended its official program with NHRA and its title sponsorship of the NHRA Harley-Davidson Sportsman Motorcycle Series through the 2012 season, the association announced today. As part of the agreement, NHRA and Harley-Davison will continue to partner in a giveaway of a Harley motorcycle at select events on the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series tour.

“When we first signed this deal three years ago, it was the first of its kind for Harley-Davidson,” said Gary Darcy, senior VP of sales and marketing at NHRA. “Since that time, Harley-Davidson’s interactive [displays] at NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events have become a destination attraction for our fans.”

The Motor Co. first entered NHRA in 2004 with the Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team. Since that time, H-D and the Screamin’ Eagle/V&H team have claimed four NHRA Full Throttle world championships, including three consecutive with rider Andrew Hines and last season’s title with Eddie Krawiec.
