This elite custom motorcycle builder competition featured custom bikes from across the country including winners from previous Progressive International Motorcycle Show stops. The Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition used a three class format including freestyle, modified Harley and performance custom.

The purse for this show alone was $14,000, plus HD GoPro cameras provided by Star and GYTR were given out to the Freestyle and Performance Custom winners and Harley-Davidson offered up a completely assembled, 120ci, Screaming Eagle race motor for the winner of the Modified Harley class.

A previous contestant at our Novi show, Jack McCoy of RCC Sportbike, brought his twin turbo Suzuki B-King back to the Ultimate Builder competition, this time with a brand new paint job that put it over the top and gave it first place in Performance Custom.

Trucking his bike across country, LA Speed Shop owner and builder Chris Richardson’s ’74 Panhead took first place in the Modified Harley class and that Screaming Eagle motor. The competition in the Mod Harley class was steep, but it was the one-off, hand crafted parts on Chris’s bike that put it over the top.

First time entrant to the competition with a bike that had never been shown before, Kenny Williams of KW Customs brought his brand new custom built bike, Tantalizer, out to the show and took a very narrow win in the Freestyle class. This bagger has air ride front and rear and some really sleek lines. It’s at the leading edge of new custom bike design.

The Progressive International Motorcycle Shows want to thank all of the competition’s entrants and congratulate the winners, each of which receive a free entry to the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in Sturgis.
