2017 X Games Harley-Davidson Flat Track Results
Harley-Davidson Flat Track Racing returned to the Summer X Games this year, making its debut in Minneapolis, MN at the Mall of America last Thursday. Twenty-two professional racers took to the oval flat track, including Harley-Davidson’s Factory Flat Track Racing Team, all running the Harley-Davidson XG750R flat tracker.

In the 20-lap main event, Sammy Halbert dominated most of the race, skating around turns, and giving spectators great action when he passed last year’s winner Jared Mees (Indian Motorcycle / Rogers Racing Indian Scout FTR750) early on. Halbert kept the lead and took home the X- Games gold for Estenson Racing on his Harley-Davidson XR750. Motorcyclist Magazine caught up with Halbert after the race, who had this to say about his big win, “Right from when we unloaded, the Estenson Racing bike was so good,” Halbert said. “All I had to do was just nurse it around them corners, hit my marks and then gas it down the straights. Eventually I was able to roll up along the outside of him (Mees) in the middle of the turn and then square him up and get underneath coming off and take the lead. I wasn’t going to give it back.”
